USPS Is Warning About Scam Text Messages

Many people, including myself and a few friends, have received a text message from the United States Postal Service warning about a delayed package.

Except, it's not from USPS, it's from scammers.

According to the US Postal Inspector Service, the scam is simple: Someone sends you a text claiming your USPS package can't be delivered because some information is missing. The scammers, according to the USPS, provide a link (which you should not click on) where they ask you to provide some personal information.

You enter your information, and they've got you.

The USPS will never text customers directly about any problems with packages. If customers want to receive updates about packages, they must sign up for the service by visiting the USPS website.

Hope that helps to keep you and yours safe.
