Many of us have been there, you run into the grocery store hoping to get in and out quickly, but the line....
That was me last week. And to make matters worse, there was only 1 cashier and 1/2 of the self-checkouts were closed.
The line was 20 people deep.
As I walked by everyone I could hear their complaints. Soon, I was grumbling too.
After an HOUR! Okay, it may have been closer to just 10 minutes, I was finally able to checkout. Frown and all. That's when it happened, "Excuse me. Aren't you Sonny from KCBI?"
I was embarrassed. Here I am grumpy all while someone recognizes me from their favorite Christian radio station.
I had to apologize, "Yes. I'm Sonny. And I am so sorry for my frown. This line just messed up my whole mood."
That's when they interrupted, "Oh no! I get it! That line was way too long! And I'm frowning too! I just wanted to say that I love KCBI and listen to you every afternoon."
All I could do is smile, and thank them. Plus I remembered that if being inconvenienced is the worst thing that happened to me, I was actually having a good day.
