Every now and then you meet someone who is so filled with life you just want to know how.
That was Fred and his wife.
I had a chance to meet them over the weekend and Fred introduced his wife as, "This is my Mary. We've been married for 39 months and 21 days!" Fred continued to smile, "Oh there's more. And we celebrate our wedding anniversary every month of the 12th!"
I chuckled and replied, "Well, that's specific. Why the exact days?"
Fred shook my hand and explained, "Because I have cancer too and I'm undergoing Chemotherapy, so we don't take any days for granted. We want to celebrate every day possible!"
I know how he feels. When you get that diagnoses you realize your own mortality, and you appreciate what God has given you.
At least I do, and so does Fred. He may have cancer, but cancer does not have Fred!
