ERCOT Says The Power Will Stay On!

Many people in Texas see a winter storm forecast and immediately have flashbacks to 2021 when there were over four million power outages.

That will not happen with this storm according to ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas, who told Dallas news outlet WFAA that the utility company has adequate power to meet the demands of customers experiencing winter weather.

"The power is not going to go out because we don't have enough supply to meet demand for this week," Vegas said. "We've got plenty of power for the demand and for the cold weather that's coming. So, the grid's gonna be running stably."

If there are any outages, ERCOT says it will be due to local municipalities suffering ice damage.
