Description

Actress, producer and Frisco-native Kelly O'Malley experienced the tragedy of losing her father to suicide in 2011, and she transformed her pain through the arts. She created A Light in Dark Places: Plays for Hope (ALIDP) -- a collection of short plays that break down the stigma surrounding the topic of suicide so that others can find hope, help and healing. Kelly returns to Dallas from Hollywood for the fourth year to bring ALIDP back to her home community. The show is immensely popular with audiences in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, as well as in Hollywood where it has run every year since 2016.

Five short-plays work together to break down the stigma surrounding the topic of suicide, using a mix of comedy and drama, to encourage healthy discussion, create community and and offer hope to those affected. Performances will be followed by a Q&A, featuring members of the ALIDP team and mental health professionals, and a reception. Tickets: http://alidptx.eventbrite.com
