It’s kind of wild how much of life can be outsourced. You can hire someone to mow your lawn, fix your car, clean your house, even run your business. But there’s one thing you can’t outsource: your relationships.
And that includes your relationship with Jesus.
With it being graduation season, I’ve been thinking about how quickly time goes - and how easy it is to fill it with tasks instead of people. When I look back, I don’t wish I’d spent more time doing chores or work. I wish I had more time with the people I love. And I wish I’d spent more time just being with Jesus.
In John 15:4, Jesus says, “Abide in me, and I in you… as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.”
We can’t grow in our faith from a distance. We have to stay close - personally, intentionally, consistently. That’s something no one else can do for us.
