When my son was little, I was teaching him to pray, and he was doing great - praying for family, all the usual things. And then, out of nowhere, he prayed for his Transformer toy.
At first, I almost corrected him. We don’t pray for our toys! But then I realized: he was just talking to God about what mattered to him. And that’s exactly what God wants.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” –Matthew 19:14
God isn’t looking for perfect prayers. He just wants us to come to Him.
