What Do You Do When You Don't Know How To Help Your Child?

Being a parent is a rollercoaster, especially when you see your child hit a tough spot. Our son Tyler was all set for college in Nashville, but now, he's struggling, and we're not sure if he'll stick with it. It hits close to home for me... I barely made it through college myself, feeling totally burned out.

You dream of giving your kids the best start in life, and it's tough when things don't go as planned. But right now, I'm learning to let go and trust God's plan for Tyler, not just my own expectations.

Proverbs 3:5-6 is a lifeline for me these days: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." It reminds me that while I can't control every outcome, I can trust that God is in charge. Maybe Tyler's path isn't what we imagined, but it's comforting to know it's in better hands than ours.

This journey of parenting is teaching me about trust, surrender, and the peace that comes with both. It's tough but I'm holding on to faith that God's got this, just like He always does.
