Trust The Designer's Manual | Morning Motivator

Have you ever had someone tell you, “Trust me, I know what I’m doing,” but something still didn’t seem right?

That happened to Caryn and me at the end of the summer. The fan motor on our air conditioner stopped working, so we had it replaced. But after the repair, the AC still wasn’t working the way it should.

I called the company back, and the technician basically told me, “Trust me. We did it right. We do this all the time.”

The problem was... it still wasn’t working.

So I pulled up the manufacturer’s manual for our specific air conditioner and started looking through the parts and specifications. That’s when I found the problem: the wrong part had been installed.

The professional sounded confident, but the designer’s manual told a different story.

That reminded me of Psalm 119:98-99: “Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.”

There are a lot of voices in the world telling us how life should work. Some of them sound very confident. Some may even have experience, education, or a lot of people agreeing with them. But confidence does not always mean truth.

That's why I need to keep coming back to God’s Word. He is the One who designed life in the first place, so it makes sense that His instructions should carry more weight than anybody else’s opinion.

When something I hear doesn’t line up with what God has said, I want to trust the Designer’s manual.
