Studies show that people who attend church regularly are some of the most flourishing folks on the planet. The more often you show up, the better you tend to do in a lot of areas – emotional, social, and even physical health. But if you’ve ever tried to wrangle a couple of kids into church on a Sunday morning, you know it can feel like a battle just to get out the door.
I get it. Some Sundays, it feels like a lot. But being part of a church community is worth it. Even the Apostle Paul, a guy who was always on the move for the sake of the gospel, understood the importance of being with other believers. In Romans 15, he wrote to his friends in the church at Rome, asking them to pray for him and longing to return to his church family so that, as he put it, “by God’s will, I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company” (Romans 15:32).
That refreshment, that joy – it’s worth the effort. And if you’re looking for a little more of both, it might be time to make Sunday mornings a priority again.
