In these days when the news can weigh heavily on our hearts, it's easy to get lost in the chaos of world events. It's a natural human reaction to grieve and worry about such things.
But here's the thing ' in these moments, we can lean into the truth of God's word to guide us back to peace. When fear begins to take hold, we can remember 2 Timothy 1:7: 'For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.' Fear and anxiety have no room to take root when we're grounded in Him.
And then there's Philippians 4:6, my go-to verse for when my mind start to spiral: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.' What an incredible reminder that we can exchange our worries for His peace that surpasses all understanding.
Let's practice turning each anxious thought into a prayer, a conversation with the One who's got the whole world in His hands.
