One night, after pulling into the driveway, GiGi tripped on the sidewalk and hit her head. She was conscious but couldn’t get up. She tried calling for help, but no one came. That’s when she realized her phone was still in the car.
The only problem? Bridger was scared of the dark.
She encouraged him, reminding him that Jesus would help him be brave. And sure enough, security footage caught him stepping out into the night, whispering to himself, “Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid.”
He grabbed the phone, ran back, and she was able to call 911. She ended up needing 22 stitches, but she’s okay now, thanks to Bridger.
He doesn’t understand why she keeps calling him a hero. But we do.
True courage isn’t about not being afraid... it’s about trusting Jesus even when you are.
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” – Psalm 56:3
