Has Your Faith Lost Its Luster?

It’s surprising how quickly the new can feel old, right? Like recently, someone in our neighborhood offered a flat-panel TV for free—something that was probably a big deal when they first bought it. It’s a lot like our faith sometimes. What starts out vibrant can get a bit routine. But Psalm 103:8-12 gives us a wonderful refresh.

It says, "The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

Whenever I read those words, I’m reminded just how much God loves us and how big His mercy is. It’s like a fresh start every time.
