I wasn’t part of the popular crowd in high school, but I really wanted to be. I remember watching the cool kids from a distance, wishing I could fit in – even though, if I’m honest, a lot of what they were doing probably wasn’t what God would have wanted for me.
It took me a while to realize that fitting in isn’t always the best thing, especially if it means stepping away from what God has for me.
Matthew 7:13-14 says, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
It’s a good reminder that God’s way is often the less popular one. It’s not always the easy road, but it’s the one that leads to life – and it’s worth every step.
