God gets our attention in some pretty funny ways sometimes. Take it from me - I was working in the yard over the weekend and ended up with some blisters on my hands. Painful, yes, but also a clear sign of my labor in the garden. It got me thinking, though. If my hands show the work I've done in the yard, what about the other areas of my life? Is there any evidence in my bank account, or my calendar, that I've been investing in what God values most: loving and serving others?
Galatians 6:9 says, "Do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up." It's a reminder that our efforts, especially those aimed at doing good and following God's lead, will bear fruit in time.
So, let's take a moment today to reflect. Are there signs, tangible or not, that we're working on the things close to God's heart? It's a challenge, but one worth embracing, knowing the harvest it will eventually bring.
