We used to live in an old house, and while we were there, we didn’t really notice the smell. But then we’d go on vacation, open a suitcase at the hotel, and boom – there it was. That old house smell, clinging to everything.
It got me thinking… our thoughts can be like that too. Negative thinking can settle in so quietly, we don’t even realize it’s shaping how we see the world, how we treat people, how we feel about ourselves.
Sometimes, we need a reset. A breath of fresh air.
Philippians 4:8 gives us that: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”
God’s Word clears the air. Let’s fill our minds with what’s true and life-giving.
