Here's a bit of a strange question. What kind of seed are you? In Matthew 13 Jesus explains an analogy he's just shared about a farmer throwing down seeds on different types of soil. In verse 18, he explains the analogy. Listen then to what the parable of the sower means. When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word at once receives it with joy, but since they have no roots, they last only a short time. when trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life in the deceitfulness of wealth, choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop yielding 160 or 30 times what was sown. So again, I ask, what kind of seed are you? Well, it's a bit of a trick question because all the seeds are the same. The difference is what happens during the growth process. In verse 22. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life, and the deceitfulness of wealth, choke the word, making it unfruitful. In other words, the problems and the desires of this world and of wealth can choke out our God given purpose and plan. Unlike the seed that can do nothing about what grows around it. You can take action if anything in your life starts to look more like a thorn, and less like fruit. This is cash god. I'm Jeremy Cruz.
