A Texas Teen Is Giving Back To Kids In The Hospital

When Jacen Phillips was born, he had a twin brother named Nathan. Nathan had serious medical complications and passed away when they were just two years old. At Nathan’s funeral, instead of flowers, their family asked for stuffed animals to donate to the hospital that had cared for him.

And Jacen never forgot.

Now, every year on his birthday, Jacen collects LEGO sets instead of gifts so he can donate them to kids at Covenant Children’s Hospital. This year, for his 16th birthday on May 31, his goal is 275 LEGO sets — all in memory of his twin.

What a beautiful way to turn loss into love.
