A Prayer For When You Feel Spiritually Dry | Morning Motivator

Have you ever gone through the motions spiritually? You’re still praying, still reading your Bible, still doing the things you’ve always done… but something just feels off.

I found myself in that place recently. It wasn’t like I had turned away from God. I just realized that somewhere along the way, I didn’t feel as close to Him as I once did. It almost felt like I had been wandering through a desert… and didn’t even notice when it started. Maybe you know that feeling.

When I get there, it helps me to hold onto what God says in Isaiah 44:3: “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground.”

God doesn’t avoid dry places. He restores them. He fills them.

And the good news is, prayers don’t have to be fancy in seasons like that. Sometimes mine sound as simple as, “God, I know I’ve drifted, but I want to be close to You again. Would You pour Your Spirit into the places that feel empty?”

If you’d like a little help finding words to pray, we’ve created a free devotional called This I Know. It’s filled with Bible verses and simple prayers for moments just like this. You can download it for free right here.
