A flower will bloom when it's pointed in the direction of the sun.
I think we could learn a lesson or two from the flower. (Don’t look directly at the sun – that's not a good idea and not the point!)
What really is at stake here is: Quitting the obsession with looking INWARD and instead -- look outside yourself for your hope.
God demonstrated His great love for you by giving His life for you on the cross. That is outside of us.
That means we don't always “feel” loved. Sometimes we downright disagree with God that we are lovable or that He loves despite all the flaws He knows about.
None of that changes the reality of what God demonstrated for you.
He loves you. Instead of looking inward, you've gotta look upward.
