You are not the Good Samaritan

So many of us know the story of the Good Samaritan in the Bible.

I won't quote it here, but so often it has been taught to us as this little lesson of, “If you see somebody in need, the right thing to do is to help them and not pass them by."

And yes, that is the most obvious point.

But it's more than that. A lot more.

Jesus is really saying: You are not the traveler on the road in the story of the Good Samaritan.

So, who are you? Who am I?

We are the one on the side of the road, left for dead.

As you go through your life, know that God rescues!

Go and know that you were dying apart from Jesus, beaten by sin, without any hope on your own.

A despised and rejected Saviour brought you back to life when all others passed you by. And go through your life and understand that, in Jesus’ compassion, HE has paid for all things necessary for you to live.

And – He has promised to come back for you. At the Father’s appointed time.
